WTH? Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6 still not being released!

When will we ever play this game?

Another week of waiting at least.

Last week there was an error made on the Playstation Blog saying that they weren’t releasing Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6, even though they announced they would. They retracted the games from their announcement, but they haven’t said they’re coming this week…making their error even bigger.

Did they undershoot the release date by 14 days? A month? 6 weeks? This is not only frustrating but confusing! These games were originally rated by the ESRB in April of this year. We still have no date for these games to be released! Crazy! Will we play these before Christmas?

Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy Origins rated by the ESRB!

Thanks to a quick commenter here on PSone Classics, we now know about these two greats coming to PSN!

Chrono Cross

Chrono Cross

So what’s Chrono Cross?

Chrono Cross is the PSone sequel to Chrono Trigger, the SNES game that was famously due on PSN this week and then retracted with FF6. This one is lauded for it’s great graphics and music, but a lot of people say that it’s difficult to live up to the precedent that Chrono Trigger made (we’ll be able to find out!). There will no doubt be more time travelling hi-jinx instore in this one.  Still has and incredible score of 94/100 on Metacritic’s scale though, this is a game that should definitely be on your radar.

WTF? Chrono Trigger and FF6 Not coming to PSN this Tuesday: Playstation Blog.

Just… WOW…

You've made him cry...

Wow, this is a spectacular failure on the part of the Playstation blog, as everyone saw, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6 were supposed to be released Tuesday, as outlined on the Playstation Blog’s weekly update, the Drop. But recently they updated their twitter saying it was all a mistake, and you can go home. No games for you.

People have been waiting months for these games, (which have been rated by the ESRB numerous times) and now this!?! It’s beginning to look a lot more like the North American Playstation Blog is simply incompetent. They have apologized for this error though, by saying “yeah they’re coming but not this week” . Sadly we already knew that, and have been waiting for months and once again no dates were given for their release.

Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI on PSN Tuesday

YAY!

Finally our collective prayers have been answered.

Square Enix got off their buts and finally got their PSone Classics coming to PSN. We’ve all been waiting months since these games were outed on the ESRB rating website, but their finally there! Tuesday these two originally SNES classics will be coming to PSN. No word on the price yet, but don’t be surprised if they’re both at the 9.99 price point, these games are revered for a reason.

PSN Store back in Japan, Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Cross Klonoa all released.

Chrono Cross now on Japanese PSN

Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Cross, all for you to play if you’re Japanese.

Finally the Playstation Store is back up all over the world. It was blocked by the Japanese Government to protect consumers from getting any more information taken from them like the address and names were during the PSN hack. What is more surprising is the amount of PSone Classics they received on day one of being online again, a larger amount of PSone Classics that have ever been released, 32 infact including some seriously high profile games like Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Cross and Klonoa. Where are all those PSone Classics we were promised?

Where is Chrono Trigger?

Games MIA

Before the PSN service was hacked, we had a slew of PSone Classics coming our way, Final Fantasy VI, Parasite Eve 2, and Chrono Trigger. Strangely enough it’s been over a month since the service was restored but sadly NA has not gotten the chance to buy this classic games, but they have been released in the PAL territories. They have released some other PSone Classics, but not the promised ones that everyone is waiting for…
