Vanguard Bandits, Anyone know this game?
This game was originally released on the Playstation one all the way back in 2000, but it never made it’s way to Europe. It’s described as a Japanese Tactical RPG with mech suits. Seems pretty standard fare, if you live in the future and hand around giant mechs that is. This game kind of comes out of left field considering it’s barely known in the west, and with a gamesranking rating of %68 it’s a strange game to get on the service. Instead of something like Tekken 3 for instance. Vanguard Bandits was developed by Human Entertainment of Japan and then handed over to Working Designs for the NA version, if you remember Working Designs are the same people who worked on localizing games like Arc The Lad, and Alundra.
Oh well, for those who have been waiting for this game to come to the service, Vanguard Bandits should be coming at some point soon.

It looks like a very cool SRPG! From what Vic Ireland has said, it took some effort to get it on PSN.
There’s a ton more info in Vic Ireland’s NeoGAF thread about the game, like release date, November 15th and price, $9.99. I guess the price had to be $9.99, it was that or nothing, but it looks like its worth it!
Here’s a link to the NeoGAF thread:

I hope even more Working Designs games make their way to PSN, I’d love to play Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete, RayStorm and a couple of others.

i already own lunar silver star story, but they already have lunar silver star harmony so they probably wont release that ( even though it was made by game arts that made grandia)
id like to see the goemon games from konami for the ps1 make it on.

I prefer Lunar Complete over Harmony. The only thing the remake did better was graphics and portability. Its just little things that bother me, like changes in script, lyrics and voice actors. But you’re right, a PSOne Classic version probably won’t happen.
Speaking of Grandia, the second game is yet another good candidate for PS2 Classics!
