3rd Birthday gets a PSN release after all.
Although Square Enix continually said they had no plans to release the 3rd Birthday on PSN is seems like it’s going to be released along with the UMD release this week, at least according to the Playstation Blog. This is great news for people interested in the series, also if they want to continue their PSP purchases over to the NGP coming later this year.
Oddly enough I e-mailed Square Enix just this week to see if they were going to release this game on PSN, this was their response.
“Thank you for your interest in our upcoming title. Currently, it has not been announced if or when this game will be available on the PSN. If this announcement is made, we ask that you stay tuned on our official website to find out. ”
I’m not saying that made a difference, but maybe if we make out voices heard a little bit we can get the digital releases that we want like the 3rd Birthday. The game was released on the Japanese Playstation network with it’s Japanese release on December 22nd of last year.
The 3rd Birthday will be released on PSN and on UMD on Tuesday March 29th.

If you’re a ninja you can check out the Playstation Blog, for a post called the Drop, but also there are sometimes the developers that go on there with a guest post, like when they announced Final Fantasy 9 for the network, they made a big deal out of it.
Another game coming out this week for PSPs is Dragon’s Lair, which I’ve never actually played. If it’s a good enough price I might grab that one, it looks like fun.
