Final Fantasy VI gets rated by the ESRB
Two days in a row Square it getting games rated as PSone Classics! Yesterday with Crono Trigger, today with Final Fantasy VI! There was talk of Final Fantasy VI being released in Japan, but there was no talk about North America, but the new ESRB rating proves it’s on it’s way.
Once again like Crono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI was originally released on the SNES, and is coming to the Playstation network as the port from the Final Fantasy Chronicles collection that was released so many years ago. This was originally called Final Fantasy III as the other games in the series before that were not released here.
It seems like PSone classics are adding more Square games than you can play (if they ever do get that damn network back up!) Thanks Dan for the tip!!

Happy to help! Another great game. Square Enix is on a roll with these classics lately. Hopefully we’ll see other SE titles like Parasite Eve II, Bushido Blade and SaGa Frontier.

I’m really looking forward to Parasite Eve 2 having just finished the first one last week (as you can see in the review). I really want to play Tenchu shadow assassins, that game looks really cool, and Diablo 1. They’re the games I’m dying for at the moment, I asked blizzard if they were planning to release it and they said that EA had the rights, then I messaged EA, and they said that Blizzard had the rights…
.
You can always dream though!

Wow, you’d think a company like ea would be able to punch a few keys and be able to tell you. To be fair, I’d guess that IP rights can get complicated for older games.
Does ea have any classics on PSN? (Kinda hard to check right now.)

yeah they do have a few of course. Medal of Honor for instance I know is EA, which is a cool game, BUT if you read my review you’ll see they seemed to upload a corrupted file. Which is kinda frustrating. And considering that EA published Diablo (a Blizzard game) on the PSone, and now Blizzard is in a partnership with Activision, EA’s cheif rival. SO! that’s a game that will probably never happen sadly. Though i would have assumed the original developer would retain the rights.
Oh Well…

well Final Fantasy 6 was part of the FF Anthology collection with FF 5. now if they released FF4 from the chronicles collection then i would be happy

Fat chance on them releasing FF4 sadly. They just released the FF4 Complete collection. They don’t want to cannabalize their sales by competing with themeselves right? :s.

well is FF4 complete collection on the PSN not just for PSP? or is it just for PSP?
April 28th, 2011 on 9:57 pm
It’s just for PSP, but if they release FF4 as a PSone classic it will probably eat into those sales. Maybe after those sales die down they’ll release it, who knows! I’ve heard the PSP version is pretty good though, some updated graphics, and two other games as well. I haven’t played it yet though.

True true. I still need to get going on FF9, I’m on Vagrant story right now, that game can be a little unpredictable at times…
