Nothing More to see here folks…
The problem facing PS3s worldwide today seems to have fixed itself, just as many people hypothesized would happen if it really was a calendar issue.
I booted up my PS3, and my PSone Classics work, along with their saves, PS2 games along with their saves (seeing as my PS3 is a Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle variety) PSN games (Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 checked) and even Heavy Rain was working again.
It’s strange that an issue such as this can hit two major electronics manufacturers in two years (the first one being the Microsoft Zune). One would believe that this is due older software creeping into the internal clocks of newer devices, because the Slims that were introduced last year had no such problems.
Luckily it seems that nothing was really hurt with today’s adventure other than the Sony brand name. I’m sure it won’t have any lasting effects though, and the next firmware update will undoubtedly have a patch so this will never happen again.
If you’re a goody goody, don’t wait to turn on your console until you get the official word from Sony off their blog. Wimp.
