Metal Gear Solid on the Playstation Vita – Told ya so!
Just before E3, Konami released an E3 apology video because they weren’t going to attend the Electronic Expo. In this video Hideo Kojima taught us all about “Transfarring” and how the PS3 Version of Metal Gear Solid Peacewalker would share save data with the PSP version. He also showed us the Transfarring logo that you can see in the picture to the right. He stated in the video as well that he thought the Transfarring would start with the PSP version, then he could work on getting PS2 games working with it, and then eventually PS3 games. These are lofty promises but Kojima and his team have made some pretty spectacular technical feats before in the past.
Then he announced that there would be an HD collection for another series of his, Zone of the Enders or ZOE. Now I managed to look close enough to see that there was a Transfarring logo on the ZOE box as well, but there were no PSP versions of the ZOE games, so that must have meant they were coming to the Vita right? Well, the Gaming media at the time didn’t seem to think so, but here we are, standing corrected. ZOE as well was announced for the Playstation Vita.
Why didn’t big multi-national gaming blogs see this evidence before?
It’s startling to see that none of the gaming media picked up on this, but it denotes a great reason as to why those sites are poor news sources, they’re not willing to take evidence like real journalists would, and then investigate to find a story. Also, I would be hard pressed to find a news source that signs off on Non Disclosure Agreements as well… Don’t get me started.
This story is getting huge popularity this week as it was officially announced this week at TGS, but if those gaming blogs had opened their eyes four months ago, they would have actually had a story instead of just an announcement.

As someone who has been increasingly on the fence about the Vita, it’s sure shaping up well. If the Vita really does have this and that rumored UMD-to-Digital program, I’ll get one for sure.

the vita’s price might be a bit much, but the titles coming for it seem to be amazing
