Call of Duty Black Ops Declassified poised to become the worst reviewed Vita game on Metacritic.

A master-class in poor licensing.

With three reviews, COD Vita is sitting on a 30/100.

Call of Duty, the largest game franchise in the world, produces a game worse than a port of a Gameloft iOS port. How could such a thing happen? How could Activision have been so stupid?

That’s the question we should all be asking of them. Looking at how much of a money maker this could have been for the Vita (and a system seller) it’s almost unbelievable that they would take such a lazy approach to their most valuable brand. Let’s try and de-construct.

Games Journalism has another Casualty.

Free PS3s as bribes not seen as a conflict of interest for some games journalists.

Earlier today I read that Robert Florence stepped down from Eurogamer due to an article he wrote about Games Journalists taking PS3′s as “gifts” (See Bribes) to post a tweet about the upcoming Tomb Raider game. What’s amazing is that any mention of those particular journalists in the article were removed by Eurogamer due to a supposed threat of a libel suit against the publication from one of the offended journalists.

SCEA uploads 7% of the PSoneclassics that Europe does for Vita. Gamers should be pissed. Update: Sony Japan posts 289 PSone classics on Vita

Sony Computer Entertainment America didn’t do their job very well

This was a huge feature release for the Vita, many early adopters waited patiently for this update to make their PSoneclassics work. The European Playstation blog did an excellent job, but their North American counterparts dropped the ball.

Gametrailers not reporting Vita news

Strange, you would think there has been news in the last six weeks.

Gametrailers not doing a lot of reporting on the Vita – Killzone Mercernary still not reported on.

This week there have been a slew of new games announced for the Vita, but oddly enough the largest gaming website in the world just isn’t reporting on it. Taking a look at their official Vita blog you can see that it hasn’t been updated since July 3rd, over six weeks ago.

The Problem with Games Journalism

Game Journalism needs a refresh.

What can change to make Games Journalism better?

If you’re like me you’re crazy for games, hell sometimes I spend more time on gaming sites reading about games than I do playing them (at least until that damn psoneclassics support comes to the Vita). But also, you might have noticed like me that there are a few things that disappoint you about the state of games journalism today. There are some great writers out there that deserve support, but the amount of junk you have to wade through to get there, is a little too thick. Here are a few things that could change to make gaming journalism a bit better.

Metacritic makes game reviews more controversial – Case Study on Jim Sterling

What makes a game review popular? Controversy.

Is this man reviewing games honestly? Or to become popular? Read on to find out.

In the game review world, in those sites ranked by Metacritic, it seems having a extreme opinion, aides in popularity of  reviews.

This was something I’ve been interested in for a while, but I think I might have actually found a decent case subject, one of the most controversial game reviewers in the business Destructoid’s Jim Sterling.

Will All PSoneclassics be available this summer? Or only a few?

We want all the PSoneclassics, thanks.

We've waited long enough

There has been a small debate going on between websites, Joystiq and Ign in particular in the case of PSoneclassics on the the Vita. Earlier this week at the Sony E3 Press conference it was announced that they would be available to play on the Vita “This summer”. This wasn’t the best news, considering this feature has been promised since the device launched here in the West in February, and in the December when it was launched in Japan.

PSVita Memory Cards Priced in NA – Ouch.

Current 32gig SDcard price $36 on Amazon.com

Proprietary Memory Sucks.

Gamestop released the prices for Vita Memory Cards, and the prices aren’t that sexy. I mean they might be small and pretty, but 120 dollars for a 32 gig card? That’s outrageous! On Amazon.com right now you can buy a 32 Gig SD card for $36!

Possible reasons why they cost more?

There might be some special reason, like write and read rate, there will be a lot of data going though these little cards at a quick pace, so you don’t want to have future games bogged down by a slow transfer rate (pop in sucks yo). Perhaps they didn’t have enough room for a regular SD card in the PSVita and had to make a smaller version so it would fit inside safely.

Steam gets hacked, somehow people aren’t upset, Sony still licking it’s wounds

Steam Service gets hacked, but no one is at risk – Gabe Newell

Steam had it’s own hacker problem that was announced to it’s users yesterday. We had heard from Steam that their forums were hacked last week, but until yesterday we had no word from them that any other information compromised. Gabe Newell sent a message to all Steam users saying that he’s sorry for the hack, and that even though some information had been taken, there is no information or notification that anyone’s accounts are at risk, but it’s probably a good idea to change your passwords anyway. Forum accounts, a separate system had all their information taken though, so there is a mandatory password reset there, it’s all outlined in his message to the users.

Playstation Classics Extension on hold.

Even a replacement laptop has broken... twice... in a month...

You probably won’t believe this…

Just a few weeks ago, with the invent of PS2 classics on PSN I decided that I would be able to extend the website in to three distinct flavors, PSoneClassics.com for PSone classic news, PS2Classics.com, and PlaystationClassics.com with news and articles about Sony gaming products in general, sadly I’ve hit a bit of a hiccup, which can be seen to the right of your screen.
