Playstation Store Update May 25th, 2010

Hello there, it’s another Update day for the Playstation store, and there are a few interesting things that you can grab, but if you’re coming to this site you’re interested in PSone Classics, and in that case you’re going to get a nice little kick to the balls.

Only one PSone Classic out this week, yet another “classic” I haven’t heard of, but what’s interesting is that it’s not playable on the PSP, only the PS3. I’m guessing it’s because it was a Dualshock only game back in the day. Delta Force Urban Warfare is it’s name and it has a 70 percent on Metacritic. It might be worth checking out, but I’m playing through a much better reviewed PSone game getting it ready to review called Medal of Honor, which I’m liking so far.

Why I’m jealous of Japan

Just today , in the land of the rising sun, and the birthplace of Playstation, final fantasy 9 was released on the Playstation network. Now this is hardly a surprise seeing how well the other two Final Fantasy games are selling on the network, but one must ask the obvious question when looking at the numbers, why are so many more PSone Classics released on the Japanese PSN, when the bigger market is here in North America?

Also, why doesn’t Europe get hardly any?

Playstation Store Update May 18th, 2010

Finally we get a PSone Classic in the Update this week, Bomberman Fantasy race, a Racing game with bombs presumably. The sad thing is this just reminds me again that there are no Gran Turismo games on the PSone section of the store, or Crash Team racing, the classic that everyone tells me about. Why is that Sony gods? I’m guessing they’re just waiting for the new GT5 to be released, maybe the week after that comes out we’ll get them on the store, (maybe get them a bonuses when we buy it considering we’ve been waiting for so long).

Playstation 3 Now a profitable hardware machine says Reuters.

According to Reuters the game system that has been sold at a loss for the last 3.5 years it’s been on the market has finally become profitable.

“The Reuters report did not provide an indication about just how much Sony is making on the system at present. But it looks like these early profits are just the start.Mainichi reports that CFO Nobuyuki Oneda said, presumably during an earnings briefing, that with continued cost cutting measures, the system could reach double digit profitability in the near future.”

The Humble Indie Bundle!

Hey Guys,

I’m primarily a console gamer, but deals like this don’t come around too often. Wildfire games, an Indie developer for PC has made a great bundle of games available. There are 6 indie games including the amazing World of Goo on sale for as much as you want to pay. The money can be split up between the developers of the games and two charities, Child’s Play, which gives games, books, movies and toys to children’s hospitals around the world, so our younger citizens can keep themselves occupied while staying there for treatment, and to EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation), which protects our rights online, like freedom of speech, privacy protection etc.
